Privacy policy
Last updated: 19 July 2026 (v1.1)
The short version: your check is anonymous. If you ask us to introduce a surveyor, we share your details with one named firm only, with your explicit consent, and we log that consent.
Who we are
PartyWallChecker (partywallchecker.com) provides free guidance on the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 for England and Wales. Contact: [email protected].
What we collect, and why
- Your checker answers stay in your browser. We do not store them unless you submit a form.
- Enquiry details (name, email, phone, postcode, project, timeline) are collected only when you request a surveyor introduction. Lawful basis: your consent.
- A consent record (time, IP address, the exact consent wording you saw, the recipient firm, the page) is kept for every introduction. Lawful basis: legal obligation to evidence consent.
- Analytics are cookieless and aggregate (Plausible). No personal profiles, no advertising trackers.
Who receives your details
One named party wall surveying firm per enquiry. Never more than one, and never a list of companies. During our launch phase, enquiries are held by us and routed to our own inbox until your area's vetted firm is confirmed; they are not sold or shared elsewhere.
How long we keep things
- Enquiries: up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Consent records: 6 years (evidence of consent).
Where processing happens
We serve people in the UK, so UK GDPR applies to us. Your data is stored with UK/EU-region cloud providers, and where it is accessed from outside the UK, that access is protected by the UK's International Data Transfer safeguards.
Your rights
You can withdraw consent, or ask for access, correction or deletion, at any time with one email to [email protected]. Withdrawal stops any further contact and any further sharing. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
